How much do you need to pay to qualify for state pension?
Author: Russell SmithJune 19, 2015
You need 30 qualifying years of National Insurance contributions or credits to get the full basic State Pension.
If however you earn between £112-£155 per week, you can still qualify for state pensions. No National Insurance contributions (NICs) are actually payable but a notional Class 1 NIC is deemed to have been paid in respect of earnings between LEL and PT to protect contributory benefit entitlement.
£8,060 salary or above – qualifies for state pension
Below £5,824 – does not qualify
