If you own a limited company and are about to have a baby and have both you and your partner as directors of your limited company then you may want to look at maternity pay and paternity pay.
Most people just consider maternity pay but it is possible to claim paternity pay as well.
If you can claim statutory maternity pay, this amount is paid to you by the company and then claimed back by going against the overall PAYE/NI bill.
But you can also claim 2 weeks paternity pay which adds up to £279.16. This will be paid as normal and can be claimed against the overall PAYE/NI bill, in the same way as maternity pay.
