Do you play games on your smart phone?

I read a superb article this morning in SUCCESS magazine July issue about the multibillion dollar industry that is the games industry. A business sector that is very difficult to stay on top of for long – Atari, Sega, Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and now Apple have all occupied the number 1 spot over the years but have always been looking over their shoulder.
One truly astounding statistic (for me anyway) was that there are more adult women playing games than young boys. Who are these women? Are you one of them? I know that I always played games when I was younger but have no idea where you get the time from these days. A dumb question because of course, you make time (see earlier blogs). So are you making enough time to play games?
Apparently David Cameron is a dab hand at Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja, so if he gets the time to play the games, why don’t you? Surely, he is busier than anybody – ever!
One way of assessing priorities in life is to look at two things – the calendar and the wallet. If you say that the most important thing in your life is your family, are they in your calendar and do you spend money on them? If business growth is important to you, how much time in the calendar is given over to this (doing the work in your business doesn’t count) and how much do you spend on yourself in learning and developing (there’s a real correlation here by the way).
TV, smart phone games, sport, film – there is so much distraction today, probably more than ever before. Let’s just hope that your competitors are drowning in a sea of distraction whilst you focus on your business goals, knuckle down and get the job down.
Maybe once you’ve finished, you can enjoy some Fruit Ninja.
